Early childhood education is essential to a child's verbal development. Children's verbal and vocabulary skills are linked to socioeconomic backgrounds. A study conducted by researchers at Stanford University concluded that by the time a child reaches three years old, a 30 million word gap exists between children from the wealthiest and poorest families.
Your generous donation to our project will improve our pre-k community by helping to enhance and develop the verbal skills and vocabulary of the students in my classroom. By utilizing a listening center with iPod nanos and headphones in my classroom, my students will have increased exposure to language and vocabulary. This project will positively impact my students' lives by helping them to become more successful in school, to learn additional skills to communicate effectively, and to have fun while learning!
