We are requesting two iPads that they can utilize independently and keep them engaged towards academic growth! My young students struggle to use computers without maximum adult support due to lack of familiarity and fine motor issues. By getting resource room iPads, I can increase their independence when working with our reading program. The program supports learning phonics skills, comprehension, and sight word recognition while also giving students and opportunity for independent practice on the skills they work on during direct instruction. It will help tie what they learn in the resource room to their work in their general education classes. With extra practice and repetition, students will make greater growth to becoming fluent readers. And that is just with one program that can be added, the opportunities are limitless with access to more apps to support their learning.
