I teach Physical Education to the 10th grade boys and girls of Mt. Pleasant Area Senior High. We are a small rural school in Westmoreland county Pennsylvania. Our school is fortunate enough to have an aquatic center that we can use for Physical Education, when most students may never get a chance to swim outside of school. We spend a portion of the school year using the pool for various swimming activities, but they are mainly limited to just the strokes.
Adding an innovative and new approach to teaching aquatics will help to spark a love and passion for a lifetime of fitness. When playing a brand new game, like water volleyball or water polo, a teacher will notice that it will level the playing field and allow most students to be successful.
