These computers will be the bridge between the real world and their world. They will not only help raise their reading levels and awareness, but they will bring the world to them. Achieve 3000 is a way for us to cross that bridge. However, a detour that we have is not enough computers in our classroom. The program, when used daily, reinforces speaking, listening and writing by encouraging the students to share their thoughts while working on their independent reading level instead of a level that frustrates them. The data provided, helps us guide our instruction that will support their learning. By doing this, each student will navigate their learning, by working at their independent level, while reading high interest articles from all over the world. Reading on their level will help them begin to enjoy reading and to become life long learners.
