My classroom is designed to help students in grades 6-10 develop different types of strategies to improve their reading skills. My students are behind grade level based on a variety of reasons including being unable to focus, being highly mobile, and having different types of disabilities. I work with them in small groups to pinpoint each one's specific area of weakness and to provide them with strategies that will work. I live in an area of high poverty where many students do not see the need for education.
