I teach science and research courses to students in grades 9-12 in an urban public high school. My students are great kids, who don't have the same advantages and opportunities that are available to wealthier students. Things that so many take for granted - textbooks, functioning laboratory equipment, funds for educational field trips and school supplies - are sorely lacking in our school system.
In spite of their disadvantages, my students are willing to take risks and face challenges. Our school is a college-prep citywide magnet program, and every one of my students came here to LEARN. My mission is to help them get the tools, support, knowledge and skills they need to make their dreams into realities.
