Students in my classroom range from Kindergarten through 6th grade with a multitude of musical abilities and interests. Students start kindergarten learning basic music theories while learning to enjoy participating in music activities and games and continue to grow their knowledge and enjoyment through 3rd grade. 4th grade is when students start experiencing music in a more specialized manner, specifically through ensembles. This next year, due to budget constraints, our school no longer has those ensembles during the school day. In place of those classes, students will be allowed to experience a basic overview of those instruments through general music in a rotating schedule. The breakdown of 4th through 6th grade classes will be split into three experiential groups growing their skills in voice, band or strings, and another instrument that has yet to be determined according to budgeting.
