In my middle school STEM class, students are learning to apply the engineering design process across the curriculum. Students are solving real world problems using their imagination and ingenuity.
This 3D printer will give my students a reliable 3D printer to bring their creations to life. Students are asked to design simple objects to meet real world needs. First they must identify the problem and consider design constraints, research the problem, develop solutions, plan a solution, create a prototype, evaluate the prototype and finally revise and improve their design.
Students will be encouraged to identify real life problems and come up with real life solutions. This will empower students to be bold in their ideas and realize their solutions are more than just images on a computer screen.
