The children in my class are an enthusiastic, curious group of first graders who love learning. We spend time together throughout the school day on our very old and dingy rug, the kids don't seem to mind, but it is time for a new, colorful rug!
The rug I am requesting is divided into colorful rows and columns and has a spot for everyone. It creates a visual space around each student to give them a sense of personal space. Some of my students have sensory issues and this type of rug will help them feel comfortable and not crowed.
I use the five colors on the rug throughout the classroom so students who sit at the green table sit on the green row. It helps with classroom management and give each child a chance to sit in different places on the rug monthly.
