At School, our youngest learners ages Pre-K to 2nd grade, share play space on an outdated playset made up of weathered equipment, extremely limited shade and very little exposure to nature.
Children need exposure to diverse opportunities to move freely and experiment with different resources found within their environment. Outdoor play helps strengthen skills with nature awareness, provides hands-on exploration as positive impact on school readiness, achieve long-lasting part of their environmental learning on school grounds. Through practice, play and repetition; their skills develop, good health is encouraged and they build confidence and self-esteem. "Children's connection with nature and learning is play and it is also a period of the day where learning through play is stretched to its limits."
