The second-grade team has taken on the "book a day challenge" this school year.
The goal is simple: read one book every school day. While the goal may be simple, the impact is profound.
Without relationships, there can be no learning and reading a book together is a great way to bring students and teacher together to experience something wonderful together.
Spending 10-15 minutes a day, reading a book as a whole group opens up a new world for students - a new world of books they may not try on their own, a world of conversation about lessons books can teach us and a world of laughter.
While I have many books in the classroom, I will need a few more to continue doing this with my students all year. I want to be intentional about the purpose of each book I read and therefore, am requesting specific books. Any help will be greatly appreciated and has the power to ignite a flame for a student's interest in reading!
