We are currently working to build our sensory room into a full functioning area for our students to help them regulate their emotions with the use of sensory swings, flexible seating, textured walls, filtered lights, and movement breaks.
Many of our students have traumatic pasts and toxic stress. When they are in a dysregulated state they are unable to use executive functioning skills to regulate their emotions. The use of the sensory room allows them to calm their bodies and minds; ultimately helping them regulate their emotions and make positive choices.
Please help us purchase a textured wall and bean pod seating for our students to have calming options when they are dysregulated.
