Math is a core content area that is worked on daily within my classroom. At the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade, my students learn their colors, shapes, and numbers. Once they have mastered these skills, they are ready to move on to others such as addition and subtraction.
As a result, to support my students in mastering these skills, a variety of hands-on, sensory math manipulatives is needed in my classroom!
The ten different manipulatives will be used in small-group instruction (centers), so that I may support an individualized education plan for each one of my Diverse Learners. In addition, the manipulatives will address my learners' preferred learning styles further supporting them in grasping mathematical concepts that can at times present some difficulties.
