When students are feeling angry, anxious, tired, or sad they are not able to successfully learn and participate in class. The items I requested are tools to help students regulate their emotions so they can get back to feeling calm, content, and ready to learn.
If a student is having difficulties focusing they can use a Sensory Fidget Snake to keep their hands busy so their minds can focus on the lesson. If a student is getting escalated in class they can go to the calm down kit and use an Isoflex Stress Ball to help ground themselves.
At one point or another we have all had moments where we are not feeling calm and happy. The calm down kit allows students to easily access items in class to help them cool down so that they may spend more time learning and less time out of class de-escalating and self-regulating.
