I am an elementary special education teacher in Bossier City, Louisiana. This year I’m helping pilot a new program in our district called the GREAT Program (Growth Reflected in Education And Therapy). We will be serving students in grades K-3 from across the parish whose behavior significantly impacts their ability to learn and make meaningful progress in the general education environment. This program is an integrated and therapeutic school environment, and addresses each student’s unique social, physiological, academic, and self-regulation needs.
