With our ever growing society the value of literacy and writing skills are priceless. My school is a low income renaissance school. My students face challenges they have to overcome every day living in poverty that the majority of us could not imagine. Since our families are fighting the deficits of poverty, the majority of our students lack the exposure, experiences, and assistance at home to help them be successful readers and writers. Our students rely mainly on what they learn in school from their teachers. These engaging and meaningful literacy centers will help equip my students with reading and writing tools that they can carry on to help them become successful and fluent readers.
