My students come from many walks of life to attend a school dedicated to using arts science and technology in the learning community. We build community by learning how there are many ways to have beauty, many ways of being a family, many peaceful solutions to conflict, many ways to think about culture. We learn how to create a culture of allies to keep our school safe and strong.
Many of my students are bi-lingual, and enjoy teaching me phrases in their home language. Some come from families that struggle to provide nutritious food and consistent housing. Some have experienced foster care and fost-adopt placement. Some have fragile health.
All of my students come to school with strengths to share. This year I want to see them all have the tools they need to express themselves.
