I have an energetic group of students with a great deal of potential. They need examples of how our learning connects with real world application to make learning relevant, and to help develop their natural curiosity and desire to extend their learning beyond the classroom environment.
Our school is located in a rural community that does face some economic challenges however; we continue to have high expectations for our students in their academic and character development. We believe that all children can and have a desire to learn and this desire can best be developed through collaboration between parents, students, community, and teachers.
Offering my students opportunities to interact with technology, like the weather station, and then a chance to apply information collected to their research will entice all students to become authentically engaged in learning.
