I'm a high school English teacher in Camden County, NC. We're a small community with a gap between the privileged and underprivileged. Our diverse student body includes children of military parents stationed nearby. I spend my own money on educational supplies, ranging from pencils to life-saving items. My projects include long-awaited classroom items that I couldn't afford due to more pressing needs. My goal is to create a safe environment where students feel supported, loved, and important. I develop their critical thinking skills, foster their love for reading, and teach media literacy. I aim to prepare them for the information age by improving their literacy skills and addressing daily issues. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
