I have found that my students gain and retain more information when I blend teacher-led instruction with individual, scaffolded practice using IPads. The online reading and math programs I use are highly engaging for the students, and allows them to experience success. It also allows for them to have better focused-attention on the tasks we are working on. Some of my students need a break from full class instruction; allowing them to put on headphones and still practice their skills is a great way for them to overcome sensory overload. Lastly, the students are so motivated to use the programs on the IPads! With some of my students, this is the only way they can learn on certain days.
