Students in my classroom come from a low-income community where parent involvement is low, societal influences are high, and where trauma seems unavoidable. Students have journeyed into my classroom due to a lack of support at home and having made poor choices. Despite their adversity, my students have not given up the hope of earning a high school diploma. They come to school full of thoughts, creativity, and questions. They are learning to better themselves in hopes of having a better future.
