The funds from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ will provide my high school sophomores, and seniors with social emotional learning supplies, independent reading novels, basic supplies like post-its and pencils, class sets of novels and texts to encourage student engagement with learning. After a year and a half of online school during covid, students are craving interpersonal interaction and learning. Phones will be banned in the classroom next semester, so I am hoping to engage students in reading and discussion even more than before!
I focus on blending technology we acquired over online school with tactile projects that require students to create, draw, write, and move around the classroom. This way they engage with the material using multiple modalities. Students are more engaged this way and retain more of what they have learned.
