My 1st graders at Horace Mann are eager to work on their 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking (also known as the four Cs and part of the Common Core Standards). They are enthusiastic about their learning and excited to integrate technology into our classroom. My students attend a large multi-track school with the majority of the population being English Language Learners with a low socioeconomic status. In my class, 90% of the students are English Language Learners (ELLs). While my students are excited to learn, they are unable to fully practice and develop their 21st century skills because they lack the necessary tools to reach the next level. Please support my project so my students can build their confidence in the English language and have an opportunity to improve their learning skills to be successful in today's digital world.
