I teach in rural California. We are one of three elementary schools in a four school district, the fourth school being our middle school. The needs of our district population are unduplicated. Our student populations include 67.3% English Learners and 82% of students I have a primary language other than English. About 95% of my students qualify for free lunches. Much of our district's funding goes to helping our students, but sometimes the just is not enough to get supplies we need.
Despite everything, my students come to school with an eagerness to learn and strive to do their best everyday.
