One item that I am requesting funding for is Zometool. Our STEM Learning Lab is equipped with some, but my students find themselves needing more to complete their entire geometric masterpiece. Zometool provides students the opportunity to discover the phenomena which give rise to fundamental concepts in art, architecture, math, engineering, and so many other disciplines. Students explore the concepts in such a way that they gain a sense of ownership over their understanding. The second item I am requesting is Code and Go Mouse. This will allow younger learners an introduction to programming through an interactive, hands-on game. Students build their own maze, and then use the coding cards to create a step-by-step path for Colby, the Programmable Robot Mouse. Program the sequence of steps, and then watch Colby race to find the cheese! It's fun, engaging, and interactive learning! The third item is a Sphero Indi At-Home Robot Kit. This kit is designed to introduce early learners to the fundamentals of computational thinking, STEAM, and computer science principles while encouraging open-ended, imaginative play-based learning with real-life scenarios as students build custom mazes and solve puzzles.
