I teach awesome sixth graders in the small town of Pontotoc, Mississippi. They are hard working kids who come from all sorts of families. We have a very diverse mix and it makes for a very interesting group of children. Over 70% of our students are considered low-income. Fifty percent of my students are African-American or Hispanic, including many English language leaners.
My students come to our school system as one of the lowest performing groups across the state, but they work hard and make improvements like you would not believe!
I strive to instill a love of learning in all of my students. These kids are very eager to learn and are always excited to show what they know.
