This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of the Engineering Design Process (ask, research, imagine, plan, create, test, improve). We will be using 3D design programs, a 3D printer, and then going into wood shop to build using the designs that the students created. Students will learn to design, plan, and construct a useful product using the 3D printer and/or wood. They will demonstrate time-management and self-motivational skills, working both individually and in groups. The students will learn that failure is part of the process; it is just another way of learning something new, you improve your idea and try again. This is a semester long course in which they will be participating in Project Based activities. Students will be challenged to integrate knowledge learned in other academic areas; science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (Manchester NH added the arts to STEM to make STEAM).
