We have a very diverse population at the schools that I travel to each week, but our students are very eager to learn and we set high expectations for them. They come from many different home situations. Many live under the poverty level. Many parents don't read well or read at all, so are unable to help their children with their homework assignments. Several do not speak English. Our staff works very hard to give our students as many opportunities as possible to help make them successful.
