There is no better way for students to grow than to experience learning first hand. I want to be able to provide my students with the opportunity to not only read and write about the content, but explore the reality of the content. Research has proven that a hands-on approach to learning helps students retain knowledge and provides a stimulating and engaging environment.
For example, the magnets that I am requesting will be used in many ways. One way is to help prove to students that magnetic forces between a pair of objects do not require contact. The Circuits that are requested will enable students to re-create circuits of various functionalities such as shining a light bulb, spinning a motor, or both. They will be able to manipulate these circuits and create their own circuits using the components provided in the snap circuit kit. Goggles will provide each students with protective equipment without the worry of being injured. The Magnetic Plant Life Cycle will be used in lessons as a game, a station activity, or even a quick review before a pop quiz. Last but not least, the Stem Classroom Bundle will provide various materials for students to explore and master multiple standards.
