My student-athletes look at our current equipment and accept the fact that this is what we have and make the most of it.
Our equipment is made up of donations and what we were able to salvage after Hurricane Katrina.
In their neighborhoods and on their way to school, my kids pass boarded up, abandoned houses every day. They then come to practice and see those reminders with our field equipment.
These new bags will allow our players to reduce injury, and increase the amount of repetitions we perform.
The QB trainer net will allow our QBs to come to school on the weekends and work on their touch and accuracy. It also allows our QBs to time the footwork and release points of the football for our system.
The kicking net is something we've never had, and it would travel with us every gameday. In a city where the kicking game is underutilized, we could use this tool to take full advantage of that aspect of the game. With this net we could give even more practice repetitions when we are practicing on offense or defense. This would eliminate kicking three footballs and walking down the sideline to pick them up to walk back and do it all over again.
