My students are 8th grade kiddos in a Texas public school. We are considered rural, but live pretty close to a larger town. Our population is diverse. We are no stranger to hurricanes or tropical storms. Tropical Storm Harvey has not only delayed the start of school for us, it has destroyed the homes of my students, severely damaged our campus, and ruined my flexible seating furniture and classroom library. On August 24th, at our Meet the Teacher even, I got to reveal the new look to The KiMbRoW zOnE. The students were so excited about the furniture in the room. Little did we know that students would never get to use it.
