I am a second grade teacher from Aliceville Elementary. I have around 23-25 students in my class. My students come from a variety of backgrounds but majority come from a low socioeconomic status. Our school is a critical needs school and 96.7% of our students are at a free/reduced lunch status. We serve free breakfast to all students each day. Many of my students' parents are unemployed. Many students come to school with little to no supplies and have no drive or motivation to learn. I want to make learning fun again for my students. My students need up to date resources and materials in order to stay competitive with surrounding areas. Common Core Standards are also being implemented at our school, as they are across our nation. I need these materials to help me apply these rigorous standards in my classroom.
