These materials would open up a world for my students that they have not yet had the chance to experience. The STEM bundle requested would allow students to have a hands on experience with engineering projects and scientific concepts that would give them a conceptual understanding of engineering and scientific concepts that no book could provide. I would like students to start here, to explore these pre-designed activities and concepts and then use that knowledge and experience to design their own experiments and projects. This generation of students will need to find solutions to problems that have no yet been identified and the only way to give them a hand up in their future careers is to allow them the time and materials necessary to practice being innovative, creative, design thinkers and problem solvers. I believe this maker space activity cart would allow students, coupled with an introduction to what design thinking is, and practice thinking through what problems our world currently has and how we can go about solving those problems and thinking of creative solutions to things that currently affect us, the opportunity to be competitive and relevant players in the work force they will be entering in the future.
