This year, I will be teaching in 9th and 12th grade at James Madison Memorial High School (JMM). My 9th grade students are all in Madison Metropolitan School District's (MMSD) Personalized Pathways, a project-based program which focuses on exposing students to curriculum within a career path.
JMM has a very strong presence and reputation in MMSD because of their academic rigor as well as dedication to building a strong community on campus. Nestled on the edge of Madison, JMM boasts a more racially diverse student body than the county in which it sits and, in line with MMSD's district vision, is dedicated to closing the achievement gap for our students of color who may be at higher risk of failure or dropping out of high school altogether.
