We need gardening tools - including barrier fabric, hoes, pruning shears, a trellis and trowels and raised beds to help our school community garden grow! By having the necessary gardening tools and supplies, my students can expand our school community garden.
My students dream of having a school Farmer's Market. A place where they can sell or donate freshly grown, organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs at a much lower cost to students and families in need. Our school is located in a food desert and most families struggle to find local fresh products to use in meals for our students. By expanding our garden, we would have the capacity to grow more produce and have a bigger harvest so that we can donate to families or start our first ever farmer's market.
