Aligning music learning to modern band and contemporary music that connects and uplifts racial and cultural representation will keep students highly engaged. Students will see themselves in the repertoire used. They will meet the California music standards while having their voices and identities raised up.
Please consider helping my students have the tools to express themselves musically. Keyboards that come with drums in it make it such a rich, fun and completely contemporary experience to learn the piano keyboard and music fundamentals with. Lessons will include being able to compose,improvise, sing and rap along to their own accompaniment. Music is inside all of us and we just need opportunities to be able to express it.
