Coming into a school that has no equipment can be quite challenging. With these materials I will be able to do many creative activities that will enhance my students' 5 components of physical fitness.
They will increase their fitness levels during different activities that will "paint the picture" so-to-speak while not realizing they are actually doing workouts that can be boring.
With all this equipment, there are endless opportunities to turn around a PE program that has fell off the map. The colorful and new equipment will bring tons of smiles that will light up the gymnasium. With this equipment, I can instill passion on my children for fitness. The human body is meant to move and it is my job to grow them in the field of being physically fit. The different sized balls in my cart will help me reach my students needs since I am teaching such a big range of ages. The balls can be used for many activities that involve striking and/or cooperation to achieve a goal. Some of my top items are a folding mat, scarves, and hula hoops. The mats will be used for fitness testing so the students have a comfortable surface rather than a hard wood floor. I will also use the mats for different cooperation activities. The scarves will be part of my favorite unit, circus. The scarves are in the first developmental stage for children to become proficient at juggling. They are a great teaching tool for coordination and tracking moving objects. The hula hoops have copious amount of activities that can be done with them.
This equipment will be used daily and change my students' outlook on PE. I need your help to make these children see that Physical Education is a way to live a healthy life.
