Having reliable headphones will allow me to work with a small group on specific skills while others are getting individualized literacy instruction using the computer program. Often I am being interrupted by students with broken headphones and I am not able to meet the needs of those in my small group. The headphone that was​ provided for students were very flimsy and with curious Kindergarten, they quickly discovered how to dismantle them. Although we started with 20 at the beginning of the year, the classroom now only has 4 working pair of headphones.
Reading is essential!
More students will be able to access their specific needs and progress easier if they have the tools necessary to hear the literacy program without interfering with the students who are working next to them.
