My classroom is comprised of hearing impaired students. Our students learn best when provided multiple presentations of materials which include sensory components, especially in the area of Science and Math.
Introducing students to STEM Hands-on activities will allow them to gain a better understanding of science standards as well as giving them an interest into the scientific world.
The Aquaterrium Planting Tank will offer my students the ability to visibly see an example of an Ecosystem. Students will see how plant life and animal life interact together. It also allows students to see an example of an aquatic habitat.
The Fossilworks Casting Kits will allow students to create their own fossils to give them a sense of what fossils look like. They'll learn about animal survival as well as characteristics. They will see and feel evidence of organisms from the past.
The math manipulatives will give my students the hands on materials to increase their math facts and understanding.
Other STEM projects will create vivid learning experiences for my students. They'll be able to tap into their other senses, despite their hearing loss.
