My name is Tina McBride. I am a first year teacher. I will be teaching Forth Grade this year. Our students will stay in the classroom for all subjects. In this classroom I am expected to have 20-30 students. The students will be diverse in learning styles and learning abilities. I want to create an area for select student choice seating for students to engage in "Literature Circles", "Think Pair Share", " Number Talks" and any other suitable activity or lesson. Studies have shown that providing students with this type of seating, helps to engage them and reduce anxiety. I would also like to create this area to be well organized and easy for students to access the books and materials they need. This is why I need containers to hold materials and books. In this area I would need dry erase boards and markers for their mathematics number talks.
