My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. These students are amazing seventh and eighth graders who love doing hands-on projects! Our school is a close-knit family that celebrates the success of all its members! However, this community school is very limited in supplies and resources. Our school offers free breakfast and lunch to 100% of our students. Many students also participate in a free after school program that provides a free dinner. Our school has 40% more English Language Learners than the district. These energetic inner-city students are working very hard to increase their math and reading skills in order to close the achievement gap.
