This project has an emphasis on S.T.E.M. activities like building with blocks, magnets (physics), and linking supplies! The project also includes wheels to put on the bottom of a plastic trash can to help transport the blocks! These supplies help students use their imagination through play and building while incorporating science and math standards. I have also included a book that helps create the love of reading! Plus, whistles have been included in the project so we can keep students safe while using these building blocks outside!
By supplying STEM activities, the confidence and skills they will learn in their independent and peer play will spill over into the learning activities done with the teacher and in their world.
Kindergarten students need to fall in love with science and math before entering first grade. Building with toys and teaching them that they are learning science and math in the process, will create a love for learning. It doesn't have to be boring to learn! Anything that will make learning more fun and meaningful is worth its weight in gold!
