We are a small school, but have a very diverse population. We try to create a community that is supportive to students and their families not only through academics but also provide emotional, social, and developmental support. We are working to help create a genuine love for learning and for each other so that our students become successful members of our global community.
In my technology class, I have been working with students to help them see the value in hands-on experiences instead of simply observing alone. With enough materials, I can provide students with the opportunity to get involved with their learning and spark their imagination to try new things. In a classroom setting, many of the ideas are abstract and hard to understand when reading about them. With the proper materials, learning can come alive for kids and help them expand their thinking beyond a text book.
