My scholars are full of creativity. By bringing current technology into the classroom, I am able to use the iPad as a strategy to make learning fun. The iPad will allow me to engage scholars in a new way of learning helping them to become better communicators and problem solvers. One of the goals of bringing iPads into the classroom is to help prepare them to thrive in today’s technology minded world and to shape tomorrow’s.
The iPad is simple and flexible, is a gateway to a wide range of media and will allow our scholars to use it as a tool to conduct research. One example is that scholars are required to compare and contrast characters in two different texts. Pages will allow them to summarize their notes and Keynote will allow them to compile their notes into a presentation of findings.
My hope is that by providing iPads to my scholars, they will experience a broader and deeper perspective of learning than ever before. My scholars learn at a different pace and through various ways. iPads in the classroom can provide opportunities for scholars to be able to work and excel at their own level and pace. I will be able to use the large selection of apps and games to make learning more personalized to fit each scholar's progress.
