I am a seventh-year, fourth-grade teacher at a Title 1 school in Riner, VA. There high poverty level at Auburn Elementary School, and a percentage of the children receive free or reduced lunch. During my time as a teacher, I have witnessed my students overcome adversity. These kids are so incredibly resilient, and that is such an inspiration. I truly have a passion for teaching, and I am humbled to spend each day with these children. My students are brave, compassionate, loving, generous, and kind. I find myself learning countless life lessons from them. I'm supposed to be teaching them, but I'm learning way more from my students.
