Tokay is implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is designed to teach students pro-social skills and to support behaviors consistent with a positive and safe learning environment, thereby promoting a positive school climate.
Tokay's specific behavioral expectations are Personal Accountability, Respect, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence, or P.R.I.D.E. Students can earn P.R.I.D.E. tickets from any staff member on campus for exemplifying one or more positive behavioral expectations. When awarding a student a ticket, staff explain why the ticket was earned so students are aware of the desired behaviors.
In order to ensure the success of PBIS, it is imperative that we reinforce students for displaying the behavioral expectations of P.R.I.D.E. Tokay is offering weekly, quarterly and end-of-semester drawings for students that have accrued PRIDE tickets. Because high school students are highly motivated by video games, one of the highly coveted end-of-semester prizes that the PBIS Team would like to purchase is a Sony PlayStation 4.
Since there is a limited budget for PBIS at our school, Tokay is asking for monetary donations that can be used towards the purchase of the PS4. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much investing in our youth by supporting Tokay High School's PBIS program.
