My classroom has middle school students who are bused in from outside the school's district to attend this Title I school because it has a resource room designed for visually impaired students. This classroom acts as both a self contained class as well as a resource room. The severity of their visual needs vary from low vision to blindness. Several of my students use magnifying equipment to enlarge their written material. 9 of my students are self contained and spend their entire day in our classroom. We even eat lunch together. 4 of these students receive adaptive physical education, due to both visual and physical limitations. 3 of my students receives instruction in both the inclusion setting as well as the self contained classroom. My other students receive instruction in an inclusion classroom and come to the class for assistance throughout the school day. It is such a joy watching my students overcome.
