With the use of a Cricut machine and supplies, students will create school-spirit ornaments, pencil holders, and other decor to sell to faculty, students, and parents. Our campus school store, run by the football team parents, currently only sells apparel and mugs. My students could offer unique items to consumers and be able to customize designs for orders with the use of the free software available online with the Cricut products. I would love to start a school-based enterprise that will allow my students to learn money skills in a real-life application and build additional skills in managing inventory, updating a website (such as Etsy), and enhance communication with consumers via email, phone, and face to face contact. Students will experience the real concept of earning money for their efforts and will use our profits to pay for field trips where we can continue to practice our independent-living skills.
