The students in my class are curious and enjoy learning but need a lot of support. Our school is a rural school and most of the students come from low income homes. In fact, over 90% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. Many of the students speak Spanish at home and begin learning English when they enter preschool or kindergarten. Most students come from homes where they may be the first in their family to graduate from college (or even high school).
