My students have not had the opportunity to explore many books before starting school. Many of their homes do not have books and our local library is not within walking distance. We have a wonderful selection of books in our classroom; we now just need acouch listening center and pillows for a nice place to enjoy them. We also want to create a place where the children can share a book together. Practice their social skills by talking about the illustrations. Retell their favorite part of a story to a peer and listening to theirs. This area will provide wonderful opportunities for our students to explore and grow.
